Area
citizens and businesses formed the Valley Alliance for Education (VAE) in
1990 for the purpose of inspiring and promoting an ethic of educational
excellence for Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County.
VAE, a community organization, is directed by a board and supported
through committees and individual activities.
VAE also has an Advisory Board which provides valuable support for
VAE’s programs.

Statement
To assist in the development of an educational
ethic in the communities of Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro such
that their citizens will

promote the value of public education as a high priority

build partnerships to sustain educational programs and
opportunities
·
perceive learning as a continuing enterprise
·
support their public school system in a process that is open
to renewal, growth, and excellence
·
recognize the vital involvement required of community and
family in the education of all persons
in order to develop responsible and caring citizens
who can successfully compete in a changing world.
